The Global Grand Challenges Summit (GGCS) is a collaborative event organized by the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Academy of Engineering. It is held in rotation by each academy in their own country. The summit aims to tackle the most pressing global challenges of the 21st century, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through interdisciplinary discussions, the three academies explore engineering and technology solutions to these challenges. Since 2013, the GGCS has been held biennially and has successfully completed four editions. The GGCS 2023 is hosted by the CAE and organized by Beijing University of Technology. With the theme of “Engineering for Sustainable Development”, the GGCS 2023 will delve into three key topics: “Sustainable Infrastructure”, “Engineering the Transition to Carbon Neutrality”, and “Engineering Approaches to Digital Economy”. Combining online and offline formats, the GGCS 2023 aims to bring together Members, Fellows, experts, and young talents from the engineering and technology communities of the three countries, fostering collaborative discussions on addressing major global challenges.
